The Company and the Owner

The "Manufatura Tabaqueira LE CIGAR" is a small cigar manufacturer, producing only handmade Premium cigars. Arned Becker, a long standing tobacco man and son of Johann Becker who emigrated from Bremen - Germany in the twenties, runs the company, which was founded end of 1997. Before getting earnestly into cigar production, Arned Becker dedicated his life to the tobacco trade, buying farmers tobacco, fermenting, sorting and finally selling the final product to cigar manufacturers the world over. He was one of the partners and founders of "Tobaco Matas da Bahia Ltda.", until his retirement.

His partner is Horst Schweers of Germany. He just retired as General Manager of "Ermor Tabarama Tobacos do Brasil Ltda.", a company dedicated in packing and selling Bahia cigar tobacco and owned by "Gebrueder Kulenkampff" of Bremen (Universal Corp of Richmond, VA), ending a forty year career within this group.

The Cigars

For all cigars produced by Manufactura Tabequeira LE CIGARS only the finest tobaccos from the "Mata Fina" districts of "Cruz das Almas" and C. do Ameida" are used. All cigars are 100% handmade and quality controls in all stages of production are strict. The bunch is made of long filler tobacco, wrapper and binder for the line BAHIA BRAZIL are also grown in the above mentioned districts. The recently added product line BAHIA SUMATRA differs only in the wrapper material, which is the M grade (light brown sorting) of shade grown Sumatra seed in Bahia.

This cigar brand has never before been sold in Australia.
